SPD is a non-governmental, non profit developmental organization that works with young people to tackle issues affecting them, while motivating and empowering them to thrive in a multi-religious/cultural community to become catalysts of change and take control of their future through a wide range of development programmes and events.   SPD was formed with Youth Developmental Goals, Focuses and Orientations. Our ultimate aim is their socio-personal development.

Why we do…
Young people are vulnerable and in need support and SPD believes that every young person deserves the opportunity to be equipped with the right orientation and skills to adopt an optimistic approach to life which begins with building self confidence, a value system and self worth. As such, we seek to sensitize and enlighten young people on issues affecting them in relation to the communities they live in and by helping them identify their potential and seek options to maximize these potentials.

What we do
Reaching out to young people, we provide a secure, non-judgemental atmosphere where young people can build self-esteem, confidence and gain essential skills, find ways to deal with issues they are faced with and make the right decisions to forge a future they can be proud of. Ultimately we enlighten, educate and engage the youths to construct a sustainable, peaceful and productive future for themselves and people around them.

How we do
We adopt a value centred approach.
This offers young people a chance to explore their values, beliefs and behaviours, helping to increase their understanding of themselves and their role in society.
Through our wide range of development programmes, which are all not all experiential but interactive, challenging but fun - we engage, support, motivate and encourage voluntary participation for young people to take control of their lives which is a key factor to their success.
Each programme/event is designed to work with young people on their own terms while providing a safe, youth-friendly, non-judgemental environment where young people can build relationships, confidence and self-esteem, gain essential life skills, make decisions and find ways to deal with their issues affecting them.
